Service Description
This hybrid class allows a mix of Beginners (6wks) that have no or little experience on the wheel, along with some Intermediate (8wks) class students that are taking on more challenging projects. is, either one is for once a week in your specified day and time and lasts for 2 hours. (This includes clean up time). Make -up classes are available, if needed. No experience is needed for beginners, but Intermediate students should have already taken at least one pottery wheel course and/or are proficient on the wheel. Beginners - You will learn the basics of wheel throwing- wedging clay, centering, lifting the walls, shaping and trimming. We will make work on various items like: bowls, cups with handles, plates, lidded items. The classes are $270 (plus tax), 6 weeks long - 1 make up class is available, if needed. Class includes up to 25 pounds of clay, use of tools, glazing and firings of 10 pieces. (Note: Additional pieces can be fired for $12 a pound) Intermediate - We will dive deeper into throwing techniques, starting with a centering intensive and refining wall lifting. 8 weeks long - 2 makeup classes available, if needed. Class fee is $350 (plus tax) and includes up to 25 pounds of clay, use of tools, glazing and firings of 14 pieces. (Note: Additional bag of clay can be purchased for $25 and pieces can be fired for $12 a pound) Currently we are taking 7 students this time for each class, (ages 14 and up). There is a 5 person minimum before a class will be started for each time slot. Please also let us know of a day and time that you need if it is not listed. NOTE: Since we are charge a credit card processing fee the moment you pay, there will be a $10 cancellation fee, should you need to cancel before the 1st day of the course starting. After that, the cost of the course is not refundable, but we can apply it to a future course or you can transfer it to a friend or family member.
