Service Description
$210 for 5 classes over 2 months, with supplemental work every other week. This course is appropriate for beginner crocheters who know chain stitches, single crochet, half-double crochet, and double crochet. Please sign up for the "From the Ground Up" crochet class if you have never crocheted before. Work with weaving and crochet skills to make an underwater mobile! No previous experience is needed, however a foundation in crochet is recommended. On our first session (9/13), we will learn how to weave the "God's Eye", a popular style of wall hanging that can be made with four, six, or eight points. This weaving will serve as the top of the mobile. We will also look at working in the round in crochet, to start our crocheted sea creatures! In the second session (9/27), we begin our first crochet project of the class by making a cute little fish! We will cover how to make them in a couple of different shapes and sizes, and learn how to swap our working yarn strand to change our fishes colors. In the third session (10/11), we will begin making a cute jellyfish for our mobile, as well as any other decorative pieces that might be desired! Feel free to bring beads, sequins, seashells, or any other embellishments you would like. We will also begin attaching all of the completed pieces to the woven top! In the fourth session (10/25), we will finish our jellyfish and learn how to make some coral, seaweed, and shells! These are great opportunities to practice freeform crochet skills to achieve the shapes and textures you want in your mobile! In the fifth and last session (11/8), we will finalize our mobiles and add any last details. Anything that requires attachment, any other ideas you want to bring for this project or any future project, bring all of that to the last class! Please also take a look at these creators who have heavily inspired the class materials: https://www.etsy.com/shop/heegeldab https://www.etsy.com/shop/SweetSoftiesCo https://www.etsy.com/shop/BlueRabbitToys Currently we are taking 5 students this time for this class, ages 14 and up. There is a 2 person minimum before a class will be scheduled for this time slot. NOTE: Since we charge a credit card processing fee the moment you pay, there will be a $7 cancellation fee, should you need to cancel before the 1st day of the course starting. After that, the cost of the course is not refundable, but we can apply it to a future course or you can transfer it to a friend or family member.
