Don't be intimidated by knitting! This 4-week course is to introduce the basics of knitting. If you've never touched a set of needles before, this class will guide you through the foundational concepts of knitting. Basic stitches and stitch formations will result in two simple projects. Week 1: How to hold the hook and yarn Foundation stitches - slip knot, casting on, knit stitch Week 2: Working in rows Counting stitches Making square/rectangular fabric Garter Stitch Week 3: Front and Back of stitches Reading your knitting Stockinette stitch Mini-project: Washcloth or coaster Week 4: Height and Drape Combining stockinette and garter Increasing and decreasing Binding off Mini-project: Shawlette Currently we are taking 5 students this time for this class, ages 14 and up. There is a 2 person minimum before a class will be scheduled for this time slot. NOTE: Since we charge a credit card processing fee the moment you pay, there will be a $7 cancellation fee, should you need to cancel before the 1st day of the course starting. After that, the cost of the course is not refundable, but we can apply it to a future course or you can transfer it to a friend or family member.
