Clay from the earth, thread from the vine.
 
Textured like tree bark rising from soil, this vase shifts from deep, crackled blue at its base into a speckled tan trunk. Its uneven rim is pierced and hand-laced with jute cord, stitching the raw edge together like something mended rather than made smooth. A raised stone-like nub sits low on one side, as though a pebble had been caught in the clay as it grew.
 
Handmade in Central Florida from ceramic and jute, spot clean with warm soapy water.
