Raku with Jesus

We are thrilled to have Jesus teach this age old technique of decorative firing. He will have us test out methods such as: Copper glaze (luster, textured and matte). White crackle glaze, naked raku, fuming, horsehair and also the obvara style.

About the event
Class will start at 10am and go for about 3-4 hours with a lunch break. Jesus will start out with a talk about the history and explain the various techinques and what you can expect during the process and saftey rules. Since we need to have raku clay pots already bisque fired, I am making some this week, (I just picked up the clay this morning). If anyone is wanting to throw any you can, but they must be trimmed by Monday at the latest so that I can bisque them before the 27th. He will have some pieces also in case they are needed. Once you pick out a pot (or one you made) you will use one of tecniques to create a beautiful unique piece, that you can take home that day!
