We are thrilled to have Jesus teach this age old technique of decorative firing. He will have us test out methods such as: Copper glazes , White crackle glaze, naked raku, fuming, & horsehair.

About the event
The workshop will start at 3pm and go for about 3-4 hours with a snack break. Jesus will start out with a talk about the history and explain the various techniques and what you can expect during the process and safety rules. We have raku clay here at the studio so that you can throw your pieces that you will use in the workshop. Keep in mind that they are not food safe with raku, so just make decorative pieces. He might have some pieces also in case they are needed. Once you pick out a pot (or one you made) you will use one of techniques to create a beautiful unique piece, that you can take home that day!
Since there are fumes that come along with doing raku, we will be doing this outside (address listed above). Other than maybe bringing your own pot, Jesus will bring…
